Lord of the Flies:
By William Golding.
Lord of the Flies is a book written by an author trying to convey a
message. William Golding belives that inside everyone there is an evil, and if someone wants a moral society, then it is their duty
to defeat that evil inside of them and be a moral person. This is
evident in Lord of the Flies. Most of the boys don't care about
a moral society and they turn to savagery and let the evil win. They
take pleasure in killing. At first they just wanted to kill to get
meat and survive. Then it turns to a sport that they enjoy. Where
does this evil come from? Inside everyone is what William Golding
belives.
It is much the same in war. Men are told by their commanding officers
to go out there and kill to win the war. Being told to do something
is one thing, but doing it is an entirely different thing. Men have
to reach down inside and keep that evil in check. If they do not
killing and war turns to pleasure. There are many examples of this
in real life. I will draw paralells from Golding's Lord of the Flies
to people like Adolf Hitler and World War II.
